  • Last week, the Metropolitan Museum of
Art opened the first phase of Big
Bambu: You Can’t, You Don’t, and You Won’t Stop
, an art project made of 5,000 bamboo poles lashed
together with 50 miles of nylon rope. Said the
project’s creators, Mike and Doug Starn, “
    [it's] been our work
since the beginning, since the ’80s, it’s always
been about how nothing stays the same and everything’s always changing
and growing, and everything’s inter-connected and inter-dependent. The
only thing that’s consistent is change itself.” See
photos of the project on Flickr, and for more information on
    tickets to see Big
    Bambu
